In 1999, Einstein medical students launched one of the first student-coordinated health clinics in the country, the Einstein Community Health Outreach (ECHO) Free Clinic. The student volunteers, under the guidance of attending physicians and in partnership with The Institute for Family Health, provide health services to uninsured Bronx residents each Saturday.
